Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

Can I vote? Is this supposed to be an open referendum?
If yes, then I’d vote for this

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

They are all excellent but my vote goes for “P” and like ubernostrum I think “U” would be perfect for TextBook.

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

I like “K”, and yes, let’s use the book for the wiki. Perfect. Looks like it could use a redo with some vector lines though, the ones there seem kind of rough (no offense). Should probably say TextBook somewhere too, I wouldn’t leave it as an assumption.

The version of wikiMedia for TextBook needs to be updated, but I just haven’t had a chance to get around to that. Maybe if Remillard wants to earn is wiki admin stripes, he can turn things current, otherwise it will have to sit tight until I can get to it. At any rate, I like the new logo idea, maybe we’ll need to tweak existing wiki colors a bit too.

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

I think a cobination of the digging with the font types from this one is perfect. Can you combine the two?

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

Of course you can replace the original TXP logo with some of the above.

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

“Digging guy” is fun, if you go that way we should have a “reading a book guy” in the same style for the wiki

I think “P” is best for useability, but it needs a bit of style:

I vote for combining the 2, get a clean version of “P” without the standard “chiseling guy” in the background from JoeyNL and then stick “digging guy” to the left of that whole thing. It would tell the user clearly what the site is for, and give it a little dose of humor and style to boot ;)

I do like “S” (cutting edge) as well… but it would require the whole site to be in that style to pull it off properly, and I don’t know, I just don’t associate Textpattern with a sans-serif font, but maybe that’s just me

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

hahaha, LOVE this one with its subtle humor:
<img src=“http://textpattern.org/trv2_logos/L.jpg” style=“width: 200px; height: 180px; border: 0” alt=”“ />

and this one with its meaning and style:
<img src=“http://textpattern.org/trv2_logos/M.jpg” style=“width: 200px; height: 180px; border: 0” alt=”“ />

Re: Textpattern Resources Logo & Icons Design Contest

What a dilemma for you, Alicson! They’ve all got something going for them. Some are very well produced and memorable, like the hare ones and the double boomerangs (if that’s what they are:-) I love the fonts of D and E.

I prefer R to S for a modern one. I like the way it splits textpattern and resources with that arrow. It could easily be adapted for future txp sites. But perhaps Dean has no intention of changing the logo. It is a good one and well established now…

The ones related to the existing txp logo all have merit. Perhaps someone with sound marketing expertise might know if any strengthen or weaken the branding and such like considerations… Perhaps you could just close your eyes, twirl around and stick a pin in at random, Alicson…

I look forward to seeing the new website!
