Re: [mention] Textpattern No. 5 on top 10 CMS at net.tutsplus.com
What qualities differentiate a general CMS and an enterprise CMS?

Here’s a really good writeup on Enterprise Content Management.
ECM’s are geared more for intranets, corporate internal networks. As you look through the feature set, you can see that Textpattern is more of a writer’s tool, with some degree of work flow via draft/live and the capability to have multi-authors with different access rights. The content is created on the fly so to speak, where enterprises need to manage all kinds of content and put it up for viewing.

I tried Drupal once and thought the back-end was very very confusing…. will have to give it another shot sometime. Maybe.
I’ve set up several WP blogs for a friend of mine lately and I just hate it how many of it’s plugins adds css-styles and tons of javascript to the html pages…. It’s a total mess imo. ;)
Textpattern is definitely the cleanest CMS and I always feel I have total control of every little bit! TXP is #1 in my book! :D

I’m always amazed at how much attention these lists get. They’re nothing but link bait. But it’s good that Textpattern at least got a mention.

i actually get upset when textpattern is left out of any of these kinds of roundups. so i was glad when it was included on my favourite tutorial site. mwr is right though, so much link bait crap out there.

Re: [mention] Textpattern No. 5 on top 10 CMS at net.tutsplus.com
Textpattern was mentioned recently on Software Daily News I thought that was sweet.
I’ve been a Drupal user for over 2 years – and it feels to me more like Linux actually – simple yet powerful – but it has a steep learning curve can be an overkill if you simply need a blog to write – or for a personal website.
Fact: Even Dries Buytaert, the guy behind Drupal did not blog with it the first couple of years after Drupal was released !
Textpattern shines when it comes to blogging – and it’s content management is quite simple.
When it comes to designing and layout – possibilities are unlimited.

yes, I was also happy to see Txp on Netuts list…but then I looked at comments bellow :-(
Out of 383 comments Txp is mentioned only in 5 comments.
And if I hit cmd+F on Safari, for Joomla, Wordpress, Modx, Drupal, etc. it says more than 100 times. now, that’s sad.

Amazingly, 8 years later top 5 list remains almost the same.

It’s almost like they’re using lots of keywords with tribal loyalty to drive clicks to their site to sell stuff. It’ll never catch on.
