Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...

I’ve received translation account shortly after I had wrote previous post.

But after I logged in translation rpc server, I found some troublesome on the uploaded file(ko-kr).

It has duplicated names of each nation. When I “update” language on my blog preference section, it produce error message like this :

“warning : duplicated input value ; ko-kr-’: key 2 insert into txp_lang set name=’‘, event=‘tag’, data=’‘, lastmod=‘20090201043815’, lang=‘ko-kr’ in /home3/gazrangnet/www/textpattern/lib/txplib_db.php on line 82”

I investigated my original uploaded translation file, but it doesn’t have duplicated items in it. What happened on my translation?

p.s. When does files on “http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/” change after I edited translation file using my rpc account?

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...

Ok, I found a cause what makes this trouble. The files between http://gazrang.net/file_download/1/ko_kr.txt and uploaded at http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/ko-kr.txt differ from only in “@Public” section. The latter has nation-specific names(eg.de-de => Deutsch….) on ‘public section’. 41 counts in total.

As you see, my attached file(on gazrang.net) doesn’t have any nation specific name on ‘public section’, but uploaded file on rpc server has those. that’s the only difference.
I don’t know how these things happened. :( I hope anyone who has admin previlage would erase nation names on ‘public section’ in my account.

We update the language files on an irregular schedule (read: whenever someone feels like doing so) between releases, and once on each release date.

The Danish translation lacks quite a few strings. Is there a current maintainer of this translation, or is the position open? If so, I’d like to apply!

There is a current maintainer but there’s always room for more :-) I’ll send you a login and make you an official translator for da-dk. Gimme a few minutes…

Thanks for volunteering.

Hello all ! I have been translating the Textpattern interface into Urdu for the last few weeks now. I began this originally out of sheer curiosity and it tuned out to be a lot of fun.
But I think it has reached a stage where it would be good enough to announce it to the community.

This work is still largely unfinished – and no doubt will always be ongoing. There are choices of words to consider without sounding too pedantic.
Also, Urdu is not my first language – rather it is my third ! I’m afraid to look now at what awaits when translating the Help Popups ! :-D

I’ve delibrately left out translating the Presentation tab to avoid confusion and complication. Urdu is an RTL language and writing HTML and XML is no fun when in RTL.
Also most Urdu speakers are more familiar with computing terms in English. But if any one requires, it would be no problem for me to translate further.

Additionally, I have gone ahead and added a ur-in translation for setup – with proper formatting for display. Because, setup is in LTR and Urdu is an RTL language, it creates a mess when displaying Urdu phrases peppered with English Terms like “Textpattern”, “MySQL”, “a-zA-Z_” etc.

You may download the setup-langs.php file as well – my translation is all the way at the bottom.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...

There were some errors in the previous file which perhaps caused a few strings to go missing in the editor. (I don’t know how that could have happened) Here is a more complete file, with all the strings present in the en-gb.txt (as of ver 4.2.0;1265896659) and the errors fixed.

ur-in.txt file on Skydrive

Hopefully those installing ur-in will not encounter “Updated 1 error” message now !

The translation in this new file is also mostly complete and refined.

How can I edit the help popups ? I can see the links on the left hand side but I can’t click on them. I can see the Translating “about_privileges” but I can’t save into it !

Am I missing permissions ?

Thanks
