It’s not as if we weren’t interacting with the community here on the forum.

Like I said above, both yourself and Mary have opened up on IRC more so than you’ve ever done on this forum. In two weeks, I’ve learned more about what makes the TxP devs tick, than what I was able to find out in two years of hanging out in these forums. IRC is just another form of communication, and when you’re talking about an Open Source project, communitycation is key.

Is that the same XPattern that we already know about?

Is there going to be a post on this so we can know more? Like what is it about, who the developers are, what are they looking to achieve, what’s the difference between the fork and TXP

for the first time in a very long time, the Textpattern devs are interacting with their community in an honest and open way.

1. Not a nice thing to say. As if they have not been honest in the past.
2. Speaking of a group of, how many? 10? 20? people as the txp community seems a bit like megalomania to me.

Well it’s been hard to touch them, yes.

And they are 3.

I think Els meant the number of people logged in on IRC.

Re: there's a party at #textpattern on irc.freenode.net and you're invited

I was one of the 20 the other day, but I never saw anything discussed about a fork or anything at all txp related. I was only there an hour though.

Does the fork mean that xpattern is no longer textpattern and no code from it will be send to the txp devs for use in txp 4.0.6 or crockery?

Which people wanted the fork, and which people did not? Would anyone like to answer my questions for a TXPQ article? (or have good answers to Jonathans questions?) Or is it just too early yet to know if xpattern will go anywhere? Or do xpatterners no longer have any interest in TXP development, the forum and TXP related things like TXPQ? Or am I better off staying in the dark seeing as I am not a coder?
