Re: gbp_permanent_links

Thanks, Graeme! I’ve had a little trouble getting permalinks to point where I want them to, but that may just be from a misunderstanding of the admin interface. I’ll try upgrading to the dev version, and I’ll post here again if I continue to have trouble.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Hey Graeme, thanks for the great plugin.

I have a couple of questions, as I can’t seem to tell if they’ve been solved yet.

  1. Displaying File Downloads correctly. They seem to still be the same way tinyfly said (I’m using the development version).
  2. A rule for permlinks with two categories. I’m trying to get permlinks for articles that are in child categories to display with the structure section\parent-category\child-category\title but I don’t know if it’s not possible or I’m just doing it incorrectly.

I’m definitely looking forward to the 1.0 and the documentation. Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Has there been any update on the File Downloads or pagination issues?

Also, slightly OT, but what kind of archiving would work well with this plugin? I’m relatively clueless on how to make a section-based archive, and how that would interact with this particular plugin (or if there’s a plugin that works well with this).

The plug-in was working fine on a separate server/install, but it’s blanking now. I’ve disabled it (hence messy); have you encountered any problems with PHP5? Any thoughts on getting it to work?

Transmodiar contact me via email or IM and I’ll got through with you some possible reasons why it’s not working as it should work fine on PHP5.

New version

gbp_admin_library v0.4.581
gbp_permanent_links v0.11.613

  • File download URL issues
  • Issues with special characters such as umlauts appearing in the URLs
  • Pagination for search results
  • And some other .. its been so long .. I forget.
New:
  • New preference for forcing the urls into lowercase – on by default
  • Preference to turn off the automatically appending of titles on URLs when there wasn’t a title or article ID

Textpattern’s default archiving should work fine. If not let me know. As for other plugins – I don’t know. I haven’t found any which have issues in my testing tho I can’t remember which ones I have actually tested – I might look at them again.

What pagination issues?

PS. File download links now work in the new version.

I want to get sub-section and sub categories work. At the moment it isn’t – but it’s on my todo list.

Essentially the problem I’d been having was that on a search it would paginate the home page instead of paginating the search, via this thread.

Okay can reproduce, but here is a workaround – if you make a new URL rule with simple a single ‘Search request’ component then it works fine. I shall look into it more and come up with a fix.

Fixed: gbp_permanent_links v0.11.613

Thanks

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Hi greame! Thanks for the updated plugin. I don’t know if this release should fix the problem I described earlier (#182), however, that problem still occurs. So when I go to domain.com/section/category (via your plugin) some articles are missing, but when I go to domain.com/section/?c=Category, the articles do occur.

Joey

No I haven’t fixed this – yet. I haven’t seen this happen. Can you send me both your Textpattern’s debugging output and the the debugging output from the plugin. Thanks.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Edit: the problem was no bug at all. The problem was that I also had an article named the same as the category. So the textpattern URL’s like section/title were interfering with gbp’s section/category URL’s. Greame, thanks for the tip!

Re: gbp_permanent_links

That problem with the File Downloads seems to have gone from bad to worse. It now doesn’t even have the mis-escaped file download number, there’s nothing at all. If I add the <txp:gbp_disable_permlinks> tag it shows up fine, but you can imagine how difficult it would be to go back through the archive and do that.

Anything I can do to make the troubleshooting easier?
