A simple question: how do I rewrite the urls used by my feeds ? Is it possible ? Say to section/category with no article title in the url ?
Thanks.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Thanks for this beautiful plugin, but having a little problem with it. As described in this thread, a few days ago I set some articles to be not published. Yesterday, I wanted to put them back online, but a few articles don’t show up anymore in my permanent links of the form domain.com/section/category.

I’m using gbp_permanent_links to make links like domain.com/section/category, which is also the URL where some articles do not show up. But when I go to domain.com/section?c=cat, the article do show up. I already tried to disable-enable the plugin, reinstalled the plugin, reconfigured the URL schemes, cleaned cache, disables “Send Last modified header”, but nothing worked. I also double checked the categories of articles. It may be a plugin problem.

The urls used in feeds should automatically be converted to the specified permlink rule – the same as used on the live pages. But to used a different permlink rule within the feed isn’t possible. Never occurred to me that anyone would want to do that. I’ll look into it.

Sounds like it might be a problem with the plugin. Could you send me some plugin debugging output so I can try reproduce this.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Thanks for a great plugin. It’s working well except I can’t quite figure out how to get it to work with my search results. I’ve set up a section called “search” and a page called “search_results” where my search results are to appear. With the plugin turned off I get my search results showing up just fine. When I enable the plugin and type a search query and hit enter, I get shuttled to the “default page” instead of my “search_results” page. I’ve messed around trying some different rules, but I’m just a bit stumped. Any suggestions on how to make this work so I can keep using your plugin? Thanks!

Greame, have you already had any change to look at it?

Re: gbp_permanent_links

would it be possible to force the links to be lowercase and replace spaces in url components with - instead of + for example?

Re: gbp_permanent_links

This plugin is great!

One question, I’d like to have “Date” in yyyymmdd format and also combined with “ID”, resulted into something like: www.domain.tld/yyyymmddid/title. How can I accomplish this?

Thanks.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Greetings, graeme!

I create rules for articles in categories: “site.com/materials/category/id/”, where “materials” – plain text.
After that in the list of articles I take out navigation of articles: “ <txp:newer> newer </txp:newer> | <txp:older> older </txp:older> “.
Save.
I try to the second page thus: “site.com/materials/mycategory/2/” – a error (404) :(
And if I try so: “ site.com/materials/mycategory/? pg=2 “ – works.

In what there can be a reason of a error?

Weird. I have the exact same setup and my search results work perfectly fine. I use this plugin and a search section for results on these sites and they work:

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Is there a way to tell this plugin not to change my file download links? All my download links site wide get changed to this: /file_download/#38;id=28 from the original file_download/28/

I only have one rule in this plugin and it is restricted to one specific section but my download links are getting rewritten everywhere.

Re: gbp_permanent_links

This plugin looks like exactly what I need for a client site, but I’ve got a question for those who’ve been using it.

How stable is the current development version of this plugin? Would it be better to use the release version or the dev version?

Re: gbp_permanent_links

Development version is what I’m using on all my sites and I recommend it. It has many bug fixes, over the so-called ‘stable version’, and it works much better.

There are one or two missing options/features stopping it becoming the final version 1.0 – nothing major – you’ll probably never notice they are missing, well… apart from maybe the documentation, hopefully everything should be relatively straight forward. Just let me know if you run in to issues.
