I use register.com . It’s simple and easy and doesn’t take more than 5 minutes each time.

After a great deal of pain I moved my domains from GoDaddy to moniker and have not regretted it.

The interface is straightforward, without ads, not many graphics. Privacy is $1 a year without complications.

Re value for money, it’s meant for domainers with lots of domains but if you have several domains which you intend to keep, you save a lot by prefunding your account and paying for a few years reg. You might look round for special offers too. I was lucky to get one at the time. It can work out at the same price as Grrrdaddy.
