Domain registrars

Can anyone recommend a domain registrar? One that doesn’t make me want to claw my own eyes out the way Godaddy does.

Just the thought of having to register or update a domain with their UI gives me the urge to crawl under my desk and sob uncontrollably.

Re: Domain registrars

I was just using it today and I can’t stand that too, but I end up sticking with them because they are the cheapest register with built-in domain privacy that I know of.

If anyone knows of another one, please do let us know.

Re: Domain registrars

Doesn’t have to be the cheapest or have fancy options. Just a simple control panel where I can register, renew and update without suffering through 37 screens of FREE! STUFF! ONLY $0.99/yr [* conditions apply]! ACT NOW!

For the love of god please make it stop.

Re: Domain registrars

Hi Zem,

https://www.cdmon.com/

I’m not sure if that is the kind of service you are looking for.
I think this is an Spain company:
I used to use their free DNS service and it was a very good service (considering it was for free).
I still sporadically receive mails from this company telling me that some service will be down for maintenance few hours… that’s good, they keep their customers informed about what’s going on.

Re: Domain registrars

1&1 is pretty cheap and usable with a free privacy option (and a free .info domain at times). I switched from GoDaddy last year to them. It is fairly slow, but somewhat faster than GoDaddy.

Re: Domain registrars

I use dotster for years now. Not the cheapest but I never had problems with them

Re: Domain registrars

Gandi are really good, especially now that their site has been updated. Gandi is the one for you.
