This is exactly the kind of things why serious web building & web design is a job, and not a hobby anymore. Toying with Photoshop is like 5 or 10% of the job.

Were you thinking of Owen Brigg’s The Noodle Incident? A bit dated, but still useful.

I actually use the following myself, in userChrome.css:

}Mary, if you have a tutorial you can point us to that would be great. I’ve heard of being able to customize my browser to use my own CSS but never figured out how — I was under the impression I have to use Greasemonkey? Anyway — I’ll drop what ever info we collect over here and then I or someone can make a sticky or a wiki entry on it. Maybe that css is just in our browser folder? I’ve never looked.

Yep that’s it. It’s a must read and analyze for every web designer around here. After that, they are a couple of useful global techniques, with base em or % and then all in %. They are well known, or they should.

neutrino: Before, it was a bit of a bother because you had to find/create a certain css file in your Firefox profile folder, edit it and restart Firefox. (I’ve got the name wrong above, it is userContent.css not userChrome.css):
Now, there’s a new extension out that makes this simpler.
Either should work fine, but you’ll likely find going the extension route will be much nicer.
There’s lots of nice customizations you can make to Firefox, all powered by CSS (UserStyles.org, SquareFree User Styles). How much do I love this browser?!
