Read More Feature
Is there a Read More feature with TXP? I have looked but see no way to add a link to break up a long post so it can be continued on another page.
Thanks :)

Re: Read More Feature
That’s what excerpts are for. You write them seperately, because that usually means more flexibility and higher quality teasers/excerpts. If you want auto-generated exceprts there is a plugin for it (though I can’t remember the name).
And if you want to use a marker in the body to control it, this can also be done with a plugin (though I am not sure if anybody already has).

What “How Do I” page?
…nor can I register.
See the link that says “New Accounts”?

Re: Read More Feature
I cannot get the Read More feature to work. The words “Read More” show up and when clicked on it leads to a new page. However, the full text still appears on the main page.
Any idea where I went wrong?

Re: Read More Feature
You’ve missed out a step. Which method were you trying to use?

Re: Read More Feature
I used the first step that required me to create a new Excert form.I created the new form and used this
<txp:excerpt /> <txp:permlink>read more</txp:permlink>when I posted the article.
(Okay, once again I have to edit this because part of my post will not show up.
I used the permalink code.)

Re: Read More Feature
If you need to use code on the board there are a couple of ways you can accomplish it.

Re: Read More Feature
Double check that you’ve followed the instructions correctly. Most likely you’re using the wrong form.

Re: Read More Feature
I have followed the instructions to the best of my ablity… truly I have.
I don’t mean to be a pest or seem lazy, as if I am looking to just get the answers here rather than doing the work myself.I have read that wiki back to front and cannot seem to grasp it.
Nothing I have done so far has worked.I have no links via the categories so I left that alone and moved on.I still have a white page for a site because using a theme took days and the fact that I still have a white page is testament to how that went.
So I decide to live with the white page and all I want is my links to show up and to write an article without it taking up the whole page.
Surely there must be some SIMPLE instructions around somehwere. Those instructions aren’t very well written… sorry but they are not :(
