Change default for excerpts/textile

Where in PHP can i change the current default “Use textile for excerpts” to “Do not use textile for excerpts”?

I’ve got a plugin that turns it off, if that’s what you’re after.

isn´t there another possibility to change it in the PHP code instead of using a plugin?

You mean modifying the Textpattern admin files themselves? I don’t know why you’d want to, but you certainly could. The file in question is txp_article.php.

The question came up on the german forum and concerned the p tags which are automatically appended to the excerpts. It would be easier to set p tags in the excerpts-form than switching textile off for every excerpt. Did i make myself understandable?

Thx mary for the hint ( txp_article.php). I went through the file but as i am no programmer i have no clue what to change so the default setting -> “Use Textile for excerpts” can be changed to -> “Do not use Textile for excerpts”.

(I think the default setting in general should be changed in TXP to: Do not use Textile for excerpts. The question “How to get rid of the p tags on excerpts” comes up something like every 4 weeks as they make no sense – at least not to me and some others.)

mary, sorry, sorry, sorry … me apologize for the confusion i caused. i just installed your plugin and viola :) did get the trick which i did not by just reading the plugin-thread. wow great, thx again so much for your work!!!
