Re: rc2 and 1.0

WP 1.5 is great. A very slick blogging tool. However I did notice that for the first time in about 3 weeks some comment spam got through it’s filters. This just hours after I upgraded to the full version of 1.5… hmmm.

As for TXP, as frustrating as it may be I don’t think Dean owes anyone anything. This isn’t a commercial product and that does make a difference. In fact, since much of the tension revolving around the release of 1.0 stems from the fact that the earlier posted release dates were not met, it is probably best that Dean not make a peep until the thing is in the can.

Keep quiet, overestimate your hoped for release by a factor of “a bunch” and spring it on the masses when it is a fait accompli.

This thread has gone to <i>hell in a hand basket</i> because there are so many people chompin’ at the bit for some news on V1. They patiently drop by a couple of times every day, couple days a week for the past few months and when they see no news they point their rifles to the sky and fire off a few rounds. Human nature ; )

To put it another way. “<i>All’s quite on the western front</i>” but the natives are gettin’ trigger happy.

I think it’s time we re-iterate that.. so many people chompin’, indeed!

As best as I could determine, this comment is the last time we knew where things stood.

The thing is, there are plenty of people around here perfectly willing to assist in the auditing if given the chance.

Dean should be here giving us hourly reports on the status. No. Strike that. Every fifteen minutes!

And I want a pony keg, and a big beer stein while I wait, Santa.

The following is true
The above statement is false.

All I wanted was a status update…which Jason provided.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

hmmm, tried wp months ago, and tried it again yesterday after someone mentioned here that 1.5’s out. still don’t think it’s as idiot proof for php illiterate buggers as some of the other cms’.

that’s why they’re called “cms” aint it? like txp and mt? they suppose to “block off” some scripting aspects of web publishing for laymens? looking at the templates for wp turns me off, it’s looking well, like php … haha.

anyways, to each his own, favorites still txp … and mt. that’s why I’m always not waiting and already using txp … (just wondering WHAT’s going to be in v1.0 that makes everyone waits?)

please don’t flame me … kehkeh …

cheers,
Th4r

Re: rc2 and 1.0

well, for those excited about wp1.5 … seems like it’s NOT “the most stable wp release after all” … super stupid mistake … (sorry wp) … wonder what they mean by “stable”

hmmm, stuff above quoted from one wp forum … forgot to “quote” it.

just wanna enforce my stand about building cms’ for non-geeks … most of them didn’t “upgrade.php” …
