Firefox browser goes AI

blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/leadership/mozillas-next-chapter-anthony-enzor-demeo-new-ceo/

Firefox will grow from a browser into a broader ecosystem of trusted software. Firefox will remain our anchor. It will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions.

Another one bites the dust.

Re: Firefox browser goes AI

RIP the last decent browser family on the planet.

P.S. I wonder how many members of the userbase the CEO asked if they actually wanted or needed an AI browser?

Ditto, but I require some form of (A) automatic cookie delete and (B) NoScript. Until I find a browser that has plugins for those, I’ll just stick with Firefox and disabling more crap every month.

Re: Firefox browser goes AI

Another sad development this year :-( * 2. Hopefully there will be some ways to block or disabled this.

There are a couple of Firefox forks (Zen Browser, the various *wolf ones,…), hopefully those will offer the required disabling options while keeping full access to the extension community.

This about that new CEO: mamot.fr/@ploum/115730935437271047. I doubt he asked anyone near the user base. (via Michael Tsai)

A list of Firefox alternatives: alternativeto.net/category/browsers/firefox-based/. Zen Browser is quite OK.
