Re: rc2 and 1.0

Well, sort of as a counter example, the Gentoo forums haven’t changed significantly in terms of overall helpfulness, even despite the really fantastic documentation that keeps growing.

Of course, perhaps Linux is such a big topic that even with the documentation provided it’s still a drop in the bucket ;-).

Re: rc2 and 1.0

….
We got some work to do now.
Dang it RC2, where are you?
We need some help from you now.

Come on RC2, I see you
pretending you got some bugs
but you’re not fooling me, cuz I can see
your problems are solved with plugs.

You know we’ve got a site to build and RC2 be ready for your act.
Don’t hold back.
And RC2 if you don’t come through you will give us a heart attack!
That’s a fact!

Hey there, RC2, where are you?
You’re ready and you’re willing.
If we can count on you, RC2
Our troubles you’ll be killin’.

PS: Oh hush. Why go and mess with a perfectly good parody by pointing out an actual release date or anything ;-)

it’s the packaged rc2 that we’re referring to. but there was implication on another thread that the next packaged release will be 1.0 (instead of an rc). is this true? if so, dare i ask when? any news would be appreciated.

and Remillard.. nice :D

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I’ll get the post-commit hook back in as soon as I have the time for it. Cody, can you do me a favor and email me a reminder about it. I work best from the INBOX.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

The word is I’m plowing through bugfixes right now, and hope to be doing about one commit per day to the repository straight on through to the 1.0 release date, slated for January 10th. After mucking about too much recently with the themes engine (which will nonetheless happen) and a couple other overly ambitious things, Txp is in feature lockdown until 1.0: for now it’s all about making it work.

Nightly build tarballs of the current repos will be available shortly at deanload.

Once 1.0 ships in January, I’m going to be bringing some of you formally on with commit privileges to the repository, opening up special contributing-developer-only branches for some rather clever features, and publishing a definitive roadmap.
