PHP 8.0.4RC1 compiling now, should be live in about 15 minutes from this post timestamp.
Nginx 1.19.8 was snuck in last week, but in all the excitement I omitted to tell you. No other news to report. Enjoy your day.

Textpattern 4.8.5 has landed. I am expecting Nginx 1.19.9 later today.

You get bonus points if you spotted there has been a delay in new PHP versions arriving on the demo server.
PHP releases have been deferred for 14 days (or more) following a server compromise in March. For more info, please refer to this bulletin: www.php.net/archive/2021.php#2021-03-30-1
We’re already at PHP 8.0.5RC1, with the most recent production release of PHP 8 being 8.0.3…so PHP 8.0.4 might not ever be a thing…maybe. I’m not sure. Expect things to hopefully settle a bit in the coming weeks.
On the Nginx web server side of things, we’re approaching the end of the 1.19 release branch. One feature I was paying particular attention to is the arrival of HTTP/3, which is looking more likely for the 1.20 branch instead.
(I’m sure there’s scope for an ASMR podcast with all this nerdy info, someone must appreciate it.)
