Re: We Love TXP

I see “pending ICANN verification”. It’s likely anyone seeing the real page has it cached.

I sent Bert an email a few weeks ago and didn’t hear back. I hope all is OK… Bert has shown great energy re Textpattern.

My theory:

  • previous owner (Sam Brown) transfers domain to new maintainer (Bert)
  • whois email contact address isn’t updated
  • ICANN email goes to black hole/is ignored/is lost in transit
  • verification period elapses
  • domain suspended

Give that man a prize :)

Domain is back up, sorry for the lapse :(

Took some time off, unplugged from the Matrix.

Will be adding more sites soon, plenty of submissions to go through.

I still Love TXP !!!

Good job, Bert. I’ll put my Sherlock Holmes deerstalker away for now.

Happy to see a Bert post. Welcome back to the Matrix. Resistance is futile.

Re: We Love TXP

I tried submitting my site but it always says the form timed out out no matter how quickly I tried to fill it out.

Re: We Love TXP

Back to looking at WeLoveTXP submissions, same old, same old.

Out of let’s say 20 emails, 15 are Wordpress sites that doing a view source makes me gag.

So I reply to them, depending on how I feel that day, you know go foff.

Now my question is this, on new installs, doesn’t the installation contact some Textpattern related site, like translations and such. Wouldn’t that be a better way to keep track of new sites rather than me having to deal with errant submissions.

From what I recall, it doesn’t phone home any more. The only contact we have with our servers is an update check when you visit the Diagnostics panel. The next version will have update checks on the plugins panel but, again, that’s only on that panel, not on installation.
