Hi – never solved the issue.
Pre-flight check
There was a problem connecting to the Textpattern update server. Please try again laterTo be honest I never raised it with opalstack mainly because i am not sure how i would explain the problem. What code is doing the Pinging of the txp server? And it is my understanding that the 4.8.1 was going to fix this issue.
There is an Oplstack Forum if you are able to expalin the issue

contact Support and they can help turning allow_url_fopen to On
