It’s necessary. Needs work, and I need to stay busy. My business has lost 90%+ of its clients & income, so I’ve got a nice, clean slate on which to start rebuilding it.

Clean slate to build on … I like your positive spirit!

Palantir is already pitching at Europe, has sold to Brexitland (anyone heard from Bojo?), has likely sold to the other eyes of the five, and it’s no doubt operating in the US now.

Neither am I surprised how short-sighted/quiet the world is being about climate crisis (still a far greater threat to society). This pandemic could be the much needed catalyst for societal change in the right direction, if played right.

But I see no signs of that at all, unfortunately. All the news can talk about, besides latest infections stats, is market loss and how/when stocks can rebound. Money, money, money.

Climate will come back to our attention when the world starts burning the glut of crude sitting in hundreds of supertankers anchored all around the world (accidents waiting to happen). The brief environmental reprieve in air pollution, from the drop in consumerism, flying, and driving, will rebound with a vengeance in the name of ‘kickstarting the economy’. Or as Trump said to the effect last night, ‘we’re going to get our oil companies and the economy back, bigger and better than ever’.

5G proponents are salivating, of course, including Palantir and intelligence agencies.

An article in the Atlantic by Zeynep Tufekci, the author of Twitter and Tear Gas, urging us not to believe the current Covid 19 models.

Re: Corona virus

That’s a curious report. No doubt China will dangle that wiener in Trump’s face for a while. The cheeto’s been taking a lot of stabs at China about this pandemic. Lot of people getting hurt because of it; just like at the start of 2016 but a different minority.

Also curious, though, Le Figaro is reporting that the US administration has paid China to re-route a large shipment of masks already paid for and destined for France, by paying three times the price for them. That seems like a bold move, even for Donald Dump. I think that one might fall in the propaganda bucket. We’ll see.

Re: Corona virus

Here’s another curious report my wife has found… covid may not have started in China, in fact, but Italy. Apparently they were dealing with a mysterious illness in the north as far back as November. They didn’t know what it was at the time so it didn’t get any attention.

That might explain why southern Europe has been hit so hard while more northerly countries haven’t. Carriers went unchecked and undetected across borders to all the football matches.

Why would we trust China’s official COVID-19 numbers?

I’m guessing most Italians would say that. ;)

All I know for sure is that the epicenter of societal collapse will be the good ol’ US of A, exhibit X.

Yeah, well that’s how the media can work when government’s want it to or don’t play along. Keeping it quiet can be just as effective as flooding it with fake news. The truth is lost.

And by the time it was reported, wuhan had already blew up to the point nobody was going to believe otherwise anyway. Bat soup is powerful imagery, much to cheeto’s delight, I’m sure.
