New website
Before the official launching of this website, I submit it to your critics.
This website is made with a very cool CMS: Textpattern 😉 https://art.clos-mirabel.com/workshops-retreats
(Note: You will not be able to return to the homepage which is still protected with a maintenance theme)
Less and less plugins in use – except smd_thumbnail, etc_date (for date formats according to different languages [the website will be served into 4 languages]) and rah_wrach (otherwize the articles finding/writing is an headache) – because the enhancements introduced by Core Devs are more and more flexible. 👍
Thanks for Oleg for his friendly help on the recurcive calls to articles with the magicals break
and breakby
attributes. (See the explanations here: https://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=50470) 👌

Re: New website
Ah, nice and simple. I like the features on the front page and thing it gives a nice portside theme. Would this be made for mobile viewing?

Re: New website
Like! There is one minor typo. On https://art.clos-mirabel.com/tutors you speak about 9
tutors but there are 10
as there is one more on the next page. I’m wondering if all of them should appear on the same page.
]You could also automate that number by using <txp:article_custom section="tutors" pageby="1" pgonly />
.

That’s exactly what I did (need some review)!

Re: New website
Thank you Colak: corrected.
The time
attribute is required here:
<txp:article_custom section="tutors" status time="any" pageby="1" pgonly />

Re: New website
Well done! Always good to see site launches on Textpattern.
A couple of minor things from my quick review:
- optimise your PNG files – I did some tests here and got ~15% reduction in file size with ImageOptim
- some footer alignment issues with wide viewport (I used 2560px) – I can email a screenshot over if this helps, rather than have it publicly viewable

Re: New website
Can only look on mobile at the moment but there it looks great. Lots of nice details and quite a bit of content too. 👍
@gaekwad: 2560px. That‘s quite a viewport!

Re: New website
Had a proper look around now, and it looks good. You came up with nice solutions, like the booking form pre-filled with room and course when you book from a course page, the overlaid picture clusters on the about page, the dark theme, instagram feed …
Did you develop a short-tag or something for your picture clusters, or are they hand-coded? I’ve tried to make some short-tags in the past for varying picture layouts (left, right, large, small, combinations thereof), or for picture clusters (rows with 1-2-3 pics etc.) but not like you have here. I’m still undecided about a good way of handling the attributes.
And where did you use your break/breakby combination in the end? You didn’t need it for the grid if I looked correctly?
And for your Instagram feed, did you use oui_instagram?
Otherwise: lovely location but pretty pricey for “normal folks”! Do you get to stay there when developing ;-) You did their main site too. That’s big!

Re: New website
Thank you Jacok for your freindly comment ;)
For the special rows you noticed ;) (with 1-2-3 pics …) that’s the result of magic advices by Oleg (see here: https://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?pid=319845#p319845). It’s seems obvious etc is a master for TXP experiments!
No plugin used for the “Fake” Instagram feed: just images uploaded from the TXP back-office with the corresponding links included into the “Alt Text” (I didn’t want to load external dependencies provided by fb).
