Re: Simplr Theme

Oh!
Please, bici, remove display:grid into the .aside-inner (default.css file) declaration in order to restore the presentation of the main menu: vertically centered into the page (I don’t know why I added it).
I will update the theme (done: you can download the new simplr-dist.zip file from GitHub and reinstall the theme).

That’s so funny: How the “Simplr” theme deals with the old IE browser?

Re: Simplr Theme

Hi bici ;)

I just made a new fresh installation of this theme without any problems:

  • Download the theme folder in the root\theme directory (unzip the package before);
  • By clicking on the link “Preview” in front of the name of the theme from the “Themes” panel;
  • Access to the public site.

If you want to use this theme for your visitors, you need to associate the default page to the “default” section.

Check its default and error_default pages to set all variables according to your needs.

If you use this theme with an existing website (during its developpment), all URLs included into search engines result pages will be served with a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable + Retry-After: 3600 header (without any concequencies on your SEO) until you activate your definitiv theme.

Re: Simplr Theme

i am unable to activate the theme.

Warning: cannot read from directories/files /home/USER/apps/babaleo_app/themes/dist/manifest.json

notice that in that path there is no “wait-me-matser” folder name as i would expect.

i downloaded the theme in zip format to my desktop. i unzip the folder. i then uploadted the folder to my server in the /themes/folder

i chown the folder to 777, but it never loads. the Admin interface cannot upload it or use it???

If i get rid of the folder “wait-me-matser” i see the theme but i don’t think this correct or desirable

Re: Simplr Theme

Hi bici,

Try downloading from the releases page of the wait-me theme. In the zip file there, Patrick’s made a ready-made folder called wait-me you just need to place in your /themes/ folder.

If you downloaded the whole repo, you can also just put the folder named dist into your /themes/ folder and then rename dist -> wait-me. You should end up with the same result.

Thanks @Jakob

And @pat64 is there a reason why there is no image included in your distrubtion?
my pithy wait for me site

I would suggest much ore verbose documnebation on the process. i dont think a newbie to TxP will have much luck in installing a theme.

( an aside —the button to install a theme is labeled <upload> …rather counter intuitive as the theme is already uploaded)

PS Pat nice touch on the social buttons and esp the contact button

Re: Simplr Theme

This page gives you some infos: https://github.com/cara-tm/wait-me

And @pat64 is there a reason why there is no image included in your distrubtion?

The only one: to offer users a choice 😋 (same situation for social networks links (optional), the contact link (optional) or your branding shown into the page footer, too)

You need to upload your picture into the /images folder (this one must be named 0) a TXP variable is available to set its extension (e.g. if you use a JPG image, name it 0.jpg and upload it into the /images/ directory).

my pithy wait for me site

Notice: You didn’t set well your website to use this theme: every one can see the default theme (if the theme is set correctly only you, when you’re logged, have the hability to see the site theme in development).

I don’t know how to give users a better help text (as a file with the distribution package?).

Re: Simplr Theme

Thanks.

You could also say:

Upload an image of your choice, that must be named 0.png, into your /root/images directory (dimensions: 350 × 500 px). this will be the image that is displayed with the main page.

just a thought.

Re: Simplr Theme

Ok. I will change the help.

Perfect! Now you can work on your development theme and see it when you are logged (tick the “preview” link in front of you new theme) and your visitors access to this “maintenance” page without any damage on your SEO (the search engine bots read the “Temporarly unavailable” header).

Re: Simplr Theme

Strangely I see 1970 as starting date!

May be a Core Dev could help me (see the code here)?
