*just wanted to post a smiley face but this forum wouldn’t let me just post a smiley face by itself but all i really wanted to say is pretty encompassed in that smiley face so please accept the smiley face and dismiss this text below as simply the toll that had to be paid to gain allowance to past that smiley face* the end.

look, i was just saying that i’m looking forward to the upcoming release and the thing jasidog asked for is the same thing i had asked early in the thread and i didn’t know how to show *fingers crossed* here and i didn’t want to do a whole unnecessary rambly thing so i thought a simple smiley face would suffice and successfully convey all my general thoughts and feelings as succinctly and amicably as possible but then the textpattern forum said, “NO, thou shalt not send only symbols and capital letters as an entire entry” and so i said, “oh? really… unfortunate…” and proceeded to write a little ramble to accompany the little smiley face that was really the only thing i wanted to say and convey in the first place.

I’m stuck! I’m trying the following tag: <txp:ob1_googlenav outputlastfirst=“0” /> and will just not turn off the last and first tabs like its supposed to! Argh please help!

I really like this plugin I struggled for a while but got it working very simply.
I am wondering about a couple of things:
1) how can I add this to the top and bottom of the page? I tried this, but to no avail – it just won’t show, not sure what I’m doing wrong could be any number of things!
2) this is a little…extravagant but basically is there anyway I could have someting like the google job where the letters hang over the numbrs? so for example
O b e e w w w w w w w w w a N First 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 etcYou get the idea – I guess it would be quite difficult to implement, but well it couldn’t hurt to ask how to do this if it was possible.

1. It needs an txp:article (or equal) tag to be first called before it can be used since otherwise some variables it uses have not been set yet. Solution: Create a txp:article call (or maybe custom) that calls up exactly what you usually call up but with a blank form to it, meaning it doesn’t show any text. This, ofcourse, means it makes another call to the database but if you can live with it then do it.
2. What letters are you thinking of? Sectionname, sitename? And yes, it would be a bit to do in the plugin. First of you need to know what letter to repeat and where. If it’s a static word it would be easier but still. Sure, it’s doable but not a feature I personally would implement since I do not see a use for it. You might think by the name of the plugin it would have this feature but …

I think you can use something like <code><txp:article pgonly=“1” /> <txp:ob1_googlenav /> <txp:article limit=“6” /> <txp:ob1_googlenav /></code> to output the googlenav at the top. the key is the pgonly attribute on the first article tag.
I am also having problems with outputlastfirst=“0”. The first and last links still show up no matter what. I am using Textpattern 4.0

Looking through your code it doesn’t seem that there is a check to see if outputlastfirst=0

It could be that it’s a feature that I thought I wrote in there but forgot in the end. When I get back from my holiday I’ll check.

I’ve been using the plugin for some time now and I find it wonderful. Recently I noticed that the plugin generates XHTML validation errors especially when used in section specific navigation.
This can be corrected easily by changing all the <code>&</code>s in lines 36-43 to <code>& amps;</code>

What do you mean by “section-specific” Colak? I’m using this myself in different sections but I’m not seeing validation errors.

i can describe how the plugin responds to my installation which is currently sv1040
I use the googlenav for article_lists. When I view a general list of the site ie <code><txp:article limit=“10”/></code>. All is fine. When I click in a category list or a section list the ampersands in the url are not valid xhtml ie instead of producing links like <code><a href=”?pg=2& amp;c=articles” title=“Page 2”>2</a></code> it produces <code><a href=”?pg=2&c=articles” title=“Page 2”>2</a></code>
note that i added a space between the & and the amp; for PunBB to show the encoding.
