Re: txp:article_custom misbehaving?

It’s cuz Expires is set to 0000-00-00 00:00:00 rather than NULL

FIXED (I think!)

First, back up your database from phpMyAdmin or something :-)

Then, go take a look at the two most recent articles in journal:

select * from textpattern where Section='journal' order by posted desc limit 2

The first is the one we just mucked about with when resaving. The second isn’t. Compare them. Look at the dates, for example. Does the Expiry date look different? Is one 0000-00-00 and other NULL, for example?

If they’re different you can run an SQL statement to update them all en-masse:

UPDATE textpattern SET Expires = NULL where Expires = '0000-00-00 00:00:00'

(EDIT: aha, just read your update: looks like that’ll sort you out, yay).

If the expiry dates are the same it might be a weird Textile thing that I’ve encountered before. I haven’t found a satisfactory way around that yet. There’s a plugin by sed somewhere which does a ‘resave all articles’ but I’ve never had much luck running it. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t, but it’s worth a shot. I’ll try and dig out the post for you.

If you don’t have many articles, you could just open each one and hit Save. That’s the low-tech method, but the most time consuming.

You are ALL the very good things. THANK YOU again! Now I can proceed with identifying broken plugins and trying to live without some of them. Yay to having the basic tags functioning properly!!

No problem, glad you’re at least in first gear instead of neutral.

I don’t know why this happens on upgrade sometimes, but it does in some situations. It’s most irritating.

I suspect gbp_pl is going to need some love to get it to work properly. If you can possibly live without it, that might be your best option until someone (perhaps me one day) can fix it.

Re: txp:article_custom misbehaving?

I’m wide open to suggestion and advice. I went to gbp from sgb_url_handler… I believe the only key URLs I need are /SECTION/CATEGORY/ (half the site does not work without this) and /SECTION/TITLE/ for select special pages (I think a calendar plugin handles /YEAR/MONTH/DAY/ ? I’m not there yet [in the debugging and restoration process—that’s a while off yet]).

The rest I prefer with the built-in /SECTION/ID/TITLE/.

Re: txp:article_custom misbehaving?

Try this fork of gbp_permanent_links. It should solve a few of the more glaring warnings/issues, but I don’t know if it works fully as I don’t know how to use it! Every time I added a rule, my entire site’s URL structure broke, but I think that’s because I’m being dim.

Re: txp:article_custom misbehaving?

note there are still tag errors:

<txp:glx_if_not_category_list> -> Textpattern Warning: tag does not exist

seems another plugin error.

ps try working in a new plain installation of 4.6.2 and slowly add your content pages and forms and see if you can isolate the problems. i.e. don’t use any plugins and then install one at a time and testing. just a thought.

eventually likely will start a new site from scratch, however want to repair what I can of this one first particularly to help make sense of the content itself; there was a lot of cross-referencing and it was heavily built on the plugins. Making progress..

Installed! URLs seem to be working well.. I’ll be experimenting with turning plugins on and off to see what happens.. if_custom_field tags are currently not doing what they’re meant to, however they’re working on the sandbox page (where no plugins are in play).

Thank you! was already on v0.7, however installed your version just to be safe. Looks like the error is still there —likely something else interfering; I’ll try disabling other plugins and leaving glx_if on..

**update: glx_if error persisted even with other plugins off

I don’t have a form “None”…
