Hi uli, if I’m not mistaken, you can include the textpacks in the plugin template and avoid the two-step problem. There’s a bit in the php file template
jakob, I’m working right in ied_plugin_composer, so in case it’s necessary to use the plugin template … I’ve no idea what to do with it.
Two weeks ago I’ve tried code similar to the one you posted (an example with Elise/Alice in it) immediately in the plugin (see around line 317) but none of the names ever arrived in txp_lang.

Michael and others terrified by errors, please try the new version that I’ve changed according to jakob’s proposals (I couldn’t stand to wait until the weekend :p) Thanks again, jakob.

I’m not terrified, on the contrary, I’m very grateful that you’ve taken on this work. I hope you can find the time to continue working calmly on this plugin. Thank you.

And the answer is: No errors. No problems. As far as I can tell, everything is working exactly as intended.
And I finally was able to wrap my head around what this plugin is supposed to do and how it works.
Fantastic Job, Uli, Jakob, and everyone else who pitched in.

Re: stm_article_order: Arbitrary sort order for your articles
Thanks, GugUser and jpdupont, for translating the textpacks!
I got mail from GugUser with the image I don’t see here and a description of his navigation problem. It seems that the only change I did to 4.6 (re-introducing hover menus by means of a CSS one-liner) was a fatal one in that it concealed that the click menu didn’t work no more. Unfortunately I altered the CSS in hour 1 of my 4.6 test phase so now the step that caused the click menus to not come down is not identifiable so easily. Console shows no error other than localStorage is null which to my mind doesn’t seem to be related as it appears on every page of the backend.

That sounds soothing. Can you navigate away from the Article Order window once you’ve saved there? (You don’t need to change order, just saving suffices.)
And I finally was able to wrap my head around what this plugin is supposed to do and how it works.
All the more I’ve to thank you for testing it :)
Fantastic Job, Uli, Jakob, and everyone else who pitched in.
Thanks but––like I wrote––I’m only working on small details, Stanislav Müller wrote this plugin from the ground up, and Stef provided me with the necessary code to make it 4.6 compatible.

Actually, that doesn’t work. I guess you have one more bug to kill. I don’t mind dropping out of the admin interface and coming back but that would be hard to explain to novice users.

Nah. Though it suffices to go back in browser history as I’ve found out with my CSS-one-liner deactivated: I wouldn’t expect to do even that from a friend let alone from a client.
I hope I’ll get an idea.
Thanks for testing, Michael.

uli, don’t be too modest. I remember that earlier you have taken over the work on this plugin and, together with springworks, have improved it. Stanislav abandoned his work on this essential plugin several years ago. It is wonderful that you have taken on this work and I hope (and believe it) you will be able to solve the current problems. Thank you.
For this reason I wrote about the idea of a new plugin name and, together with the start of the Textpattern 4.6 era, open a new forum topic.

Re: stm_article_order: Arbitrary sort order for your articles
No images > screenshot … !? I’m using Textpattern v4.5.7 with stm_article_order v0.3
Please, give me a hint to start (again) an investigation. Thanks!
[solved]
smd_thumbnails lost it’s prefs to make default Txp thumbnails when uploading original images. stm_article_order uses these thumbnails.

Re: stm_article_order: Arbitrary sort order for your articles
You need a newer version where the problem with PNGs is fixed (see).

I can confirm the navigation bug here too. Plus I get an error: User_Error "Unknown column 'images' in 'where clause'".
Is there any progress?

Re: stm_article_order: Arbitrary sort order for your articles
Hello uli,
I try the plugin with last dev 4.7, and the drag and drop don’t work : on the “drop” part, all the articles labels move to the very bottom of the page …
