Re: [textpacks] Translating languages strings for Textpattern 4.6
An update: we’ve passed the 90% milestone on translations.
To give you an idea of progress, the magic number for translated strings before 4.6 appears is 49115. The current number is 46600.
That means there are 2585 more strings to go to hit that magic number.
Can you help? These languages could really benefit from a native speaker with some time to spare:
- Algerian (Arabic)
- Danish
- Estonian
- Croatian
- Indonesian
- Icelandic
- Norwegian
- Slovak
- Thai
- Turkish
- Urdu
- Chinese (Traditional)

That’s brilliant. Thanks Pete for spearheading this movement, and thank you everyone who has contributed so far to the language effort, and future hat-tips to anyone who is going to help with the remaining strings. You’re all marvellous.

Another status update: 90.50% completed.
Or, to spin that around: fewer than 4900 strings are untranslated.

I’m going to stop posting percentage statuses in here because of the movable nature of translations and strings. Please refer to this spreadsheet for the latest info.

Hi, just needs one translation into Spanish for password_change_confirmation
string and that Textpack is then fully up to date. English content is:
Your password has been changed. If you did not request a change to your password, contact your site administrator.
If someone could translate, that would be great. Cheers!

Whilst we have a good group of GitHub users adding translations, I also want to lower the barrier of entry for everyone else who wants to contribute translations… so I have added a new way of translating Textpattern, and this will become the primary (and easy) way of translating Textpattern into different languages in the future for anyone not comfortable with the GitHub method.
Our friends over at Crowdin have very kindly given us a free Open Source Project account on their system, you can reach it via:
http://translate.textpattern.io/
In there you will see a list of our current language translations, along with the level of completeness they have. Simply pick one from the list, and you can start adding translations.
This system also has the benefit of showing the original (British English) text and various auto-translation software results to help you along. It’s a really nice system I think.
Let me know what you think. If all goes well I will make this tool easy to find via the new Textpattern.com site when it appears.

This question is unanswered: Should we use the polite form or as between friends? I mean in Spanish, tú or usted?
