I would be interested in Redactor.
The OEM license for the project? We can do that, already have enough funds.
But you guys might want to think about a revenue model if the project is going to grow. I’d suggest paid add-ons as one option.

Seems this has disappeared under the radar, so this is a bump.

Re: Summer 2015 fund raiser for Textpattern
As alluded to already, this fundraiser is designed to fund Textpattern itself as opposed to the developers personally. It would be good to use the funds to buy domain names, purchase an OEM license or anything else that furthers the project.
Please add your thoughts to how the funds contributed may be used. It doesn’t preclude offering funds to the deserving developers – the goal is to fund the project itself – and your support and feedback in this process will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Summer 2015 fund raiser for Textpattern
I am totally fine with using all this to fund project bits.
Since Rachel Andrew at Perch has done extensive talks/research on CMS WYSIWYGs and syntax toolbars and has decided upon Redactor, I’d be totally up for purchasing the OEM license of that too. Of course I don’t do the coding side of Textpattern so that may not be feasible, possible and/or desirable to the other devs – but it gets my vote.
Other thoughts on what could be done with this money, then I’m all ears…

I’ve been playing around with WYSIWYG Toolbars also, but I steered clear of Redactor because it wasn’t free.
We should start a new thread discussing all available options for an end user WYSIWYG experience.

Re: Summer 2015 fund raiser for Textpattern
How does the OEM nature of Redactor sit with open source project ethics? I’d be wary of licensing conflicts with distribution. Perch is great, but is proprietary/commercial, which aligns itself with Redactor, so it’s a logical fit. Textpattern is GPLv2, and some components are LGPLv2.1 or BSDv3.
GPLv2 allows me to sell Textpattern (I don’t, but I could). The OEM licence for Redactor permits inclusion in open source projects, but not to sell, which contradicts GPLv2. Dilemma.

Boo, I didn’t even think about licenses – damn you OSS!

Yeah. Captain Buzzkill strikes again.
Perhaps with the recent uptick in activity, a plugin developer could step up to the plate and figure out how an open source one could be integrated – there’re plenty to pick from.

Quoted from the Redactor OEM license:
The OEM License: Holders of the OEM License may use the Software as if they had the Professional license. In addition, OEM License holders are allowed to sell or otherwise distribute the Software to the developers and not only to the end users. The OEM license allows license holder’s clients to develop their own products based on or containing Software. The OEM License holder’s clients do not have to obtain their own Professional or OEM license. The OEM License holders are allowed to integrate the Software with open source products. However, neither license holder nor license holder’s clients can sell Redactor as a sole product (with or without modification); License holder and license holder’s clients should use it fairly; Imperavi LLC still holds all the copyrights for Software code, Software code does not become open source, and we solely determine “fair use” of the Software. Support for the holders of the OEM License is limited to one year from the date of purchase.
The emphasised sentence of the quote above would seem to allow sales of an integrated product to end users or developers if you own an OEM license for Redactor. The only restriction is on re-selling Redactor as a sole product.
