Your timing was good – I said this about 20 minutes ago:

[…] there comes a point where action trumps words.

So, yeah – I regret nothing. Worth every cent, and more. Textpattern makes me happy, and frustrates me in equal measure. Kinda like marriage, really.

I was. It didn’t end well. At all. Ugh.

As of November, I’ll have been involved with Textpattern for more time than my first marriage, so go figure!

Re: Summer 2015 fund raiser for Textpattern

Excellent Jonathan – I had been thinking exactly the same. I was just wondering – and I really don’t want to put anyone’s nose out of joint here – whether Jukka is still around. Make no mistake, he’s made excellent contributions and his plugins are in-val-ua-ble, but it’s been such a long time since we’ve seen him around. Pete, on the other hand, has become a veritable “sweeper”, picking up pieces, giving direction, channelling activities…

Unfortunately, I received an error when trying to donate – “Beim Verarbeiten Ihrer Anfrage ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Bevor Sie es erneut versuchen, sollten Sie sich anmelden und in Ihrem Kontoauszug sicherstellen, dass die Transaktion nicht durchgeführt wurde.“ (There was an error processing your request. Before trying again, please log in to your account to make sure the transaction hasn’t taken place). I’ll try again later…

Re: Summer 2015 fund raiser for Textpattern

Hi Julian, sorry you got the PayPal error! In my opening post, you’ll notice that under “When?” I mention sending monies to “active” developers. Two years ago I think we gave some monies to Destry who did a great job with TXP mag, so it doesn’t have to go to developers per se. But Pete won’t be on the receiving list as he already made a very nice donation ;)

I think these donation drives are positive and worthwhile, but don’t replace the need in my view to have a proper revenue model for the project. It could just be paid-for extras like a good commenting system or a multi language pack, thats for the developers to decide, but they should have something in place instead of relying on small donations. My 2c!
