Re: TextDrive officially dead
WHAT THE HECK!!!!
I don’t visit the forums that often and I just got an email from a client saying his site was down! I checked and all of my TxD hosted sites are down and then I find this thread?! I can’t even connect via FTP. No warning at all…. no email? nothing!? (except a forum post?!)
How do I go about getting my files and DB off the server?

You should get in touch with Jacques in the Kaizen garden forums. He should be able to help in retrieving your content

I think you might be out of luck, b00y0h. They shut down officially a couple of weeks ago – see their Wikipedia page for more info (the Textdrive site isn’t resolving for me right now, maybe it’s dead).
Edit: Colak got in before I did – try his idea.

Although TXD is officially offline, Jacques is the one who is nuking the accounts on an one to one basis so there might still be some time left.

If that’s not the definition of a thankless task, I don’t know what is. I hope he’s being paid for all this work.

As far as I know Dean hasn’t paid him for about a year

I am lost for words. I’d better keep my mouth shut in case something unsavoury is committed to keyboard.

For those who wish to know, details of what went wrong will be made available once shutdown operations have completed.
I’m still waiting for the details about what happened, exactly.

From the sounds of b00y0h’s post, the accounts are still being shut down; I’m assuming her/his client hasn’t had a site offline for two weeks and only just spotted it.

Re: TextDrive officially dead
TextDrive is officially dead dead. Vendor powered down all the old TextDrive servers.
I am restoring stuff from backups for folks.
