What we need first is a dedicated server administrator, as part of the core team, with access to some good scalable hardware. It’d never even get started without someone like that in place.
But we don’t even have ownership of Textpattern domain or brand, so don’t get your hopes up. I could rage on about certain previous project members, but I won’t.
Frustrating.
Reminds me we need to get the projects domains into the projects hands. I’ll ask about that next time the person who shall not be named asks me another question.

Re: TextDrive officially dead
Thanks Jacques. When we’ve all got a bit of spare time maybe we could get the core devs together and have a chat about an official Textpattern hosting model. Maybe it’s not feasible or not any value, but it’s worth exploring the options.

WHAT THE HECK!!!!
I don’t visit the forums that often and I just got an email from a client saying his site was down! I checked and all of my TxD hosted sites are down and then I find this thread?! I can’t even connect via FTP. No warning at all…. no email? nothing!? (except a forum post?!)
How do I go about getting my files and DB off the server?

You should get in touch with Jacques in the Kaizen garden forums. He should be able to help in retrieving your content

I think you might be out of luck, b00y0h. They shut down officially a couple of weeks ago – see their Wikipedia page for more info (the Textdrive site isn’t resolving for me right now, maybe it’s dead).
Edit: Colak got in before I did – try his idea.

Although TXD is officially offline, Jacques is the one who is nuking the accounts on an one to one basis so there might still be some time left.

If that’s not the definition of a thankless task, I don’t know what is. I hope he’s being paid for all this work.
