Re: So what's about multilevel navigation for Textpattern CMS?

No. 4.0.7 is slated for an August (ish) release. Check the SVN logs ;).

Re: So what's about multilevel navigation for Textpattern CMS?

Multilevel navigation is exactly the point where txp sucks. I just had to abandon a projekt simply because i couldn´t figure out (after heavy websurfing) how to achieve the following very simple and most common structure:

www.sitename.com/firstlevel/secondlevel/content.htm

I´m now in the process of learning MODx which seems to realize this quite easily.

Couldn’t the gbp_permanent_links plugin do that for you? (I’m not an expert in that plugin but I’ve seen structures like that in Txp sites and I’m pretty sure it can do it). Of course if you want this facility natively then, yes, you’re right it’s not a core feature.

Hi,
I think Claus is talking about the lack of subsections. As I said some posts above in this same thread, this is achievable only changing the section > category structure with gbp_permanent_links but this is not optimal.
BTW now I realize I’m not complaining about it from ages so I’m doing it now ;)
No… really… It would be so useful…

I think this is the first post about subsections.

It seems so obvious that I fear I overlooked a thread for it, couldn’t find it, though. Sooo…. subsections, anyone? – Winters

I really would recommend looking at gbp_permanent_links to see if it can do what you want in the meantime. It took me literally years to figure out how to use optimally use it but it does some truly amazing things.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I didn’t realise that faking subsections in gbp_pl was sub-optimal. I’ve not actually set it up myself: only seen the results of its magic after maniqui / pieman have been let loose on a project. The things they can do with it are truly amazing…

Re: So what's about multilevel navigation for Textpattern CMS?

After installing gbp_permanent_links and trying it out I’m still having difficulty wrapping my head around the best way to use it. I’d love to be able to implement it one of my projects but find the lack of documentation to be a stumbling block =(
