How to change date of an article

Hi all,

I cannot find an answer to this basic question – perhaps I haven’t looked well enough:

The site I manage has regular News Articles posted. Using <txp:posted /> the date is set automatically and displayed above the article. Sometimes the articles posted are press releases which are dated a few days before they are sent to me for posting.

I need to be able to “put back” the date of posting.

Can that be done?

In the Articles list, the date cannot be edited. I don’t see any place to do that – the changes available are to category, author etc but not to date.

Assistance please …

Hi Porat

When you are on the article (in the write tab), the date is located in the bar on right under “More”. You can change it there.

Perhaps we should make this bit more visible / obvious in the wiki documentation. It’s not the first time someone’s asked. That page is out-of-date and faaaaar too unwieldy to be of any practical use; and those screenshots are overly-complex, imo.

Anyone care to look into it? It could almost do with splitting up into a few parts or, at very least, simplifying and offloading some of the more explainy parts to other areas (such as the Orientation section). I know I — with my new user hat on — wouldn’t want to wade through nearly 4000 words to find out how to set the date in an article!
