thesequencegroup.com - Vancouver motion design company

Textpattern has been my go-to CMS for many years already. I used it again for thesequencegroup.com. Everything’s dynamic with minimal redundancy — a single article results in gallery thumbnails, a project page, and (optionally) a blog post. The only plugin at work is soo_article_image_url, but there’s a healthy amount of PHP helping out (for instance, to handle pagination for article_custom).

Every time I use TXP for a project, I’m reminded of how great it is to work with. Thanks, everyone, for making such a great CMS.

Thanks! It was designed by Mark Stucket and myself — from first conception to launch in just over a week, which is really a testament to how great Textpattern is for development.

both the site and their work is beautiful. There’s still some Lorem ipsum in the interactive page on http://thesequencegroup.com/Interactive/

The lorem ipsum is a joke, but not many people are getting it :)

Re: thesequencegroup.com - Vancouver motion design company

I just joined the site to post. (I wonder if there is a word for that)

I’ve known Ian Kirby (Founder of the Sequence Group) since late Broken Saints days and have been impressed with his work ever since.

With your testimonial Ash, I’m going to check out Text Pattern for my next site.

I am curious though, how did you set up that full screen video to play in the background? I can’t see flash or anything I am familiar with running.

Re: thesequencegroup.com - Vancouver motion design company

Thanks, strongfruit. The video background is indeed Flash — it’s just a really barebones video player I made with AS3. The scanlines are actually just a repeating image on top of it in HTML.

Ian’s great. We’re a company of around a dozen people now, and still do a lot of motion comics.
