Aleksandr
Hi, I just put TXP on my domain after a couple months using WP… I chose the Aleksandr theme and followed all the directions in the readme. Despite this, I am having three problems:
1) Tag error: <txp:sitename/> -> Textpattern Notice: tag is deprecated on line 978

2) I uploaded the header image but it’s not showing.
3) According to the preview, Aleksandr is supposed to show your entry on the main page. But it’s not there.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

<txp:sitename /> was replaced with <txp:site_name />. I’m not familiar with the template so I’m no help on the other issues.

clarelb, to help you with 2) we’d need the image’s current path plus the css (or tag?) it uses to be displayed.
For 3) it would be helpful to post the page’s code where the error happens (if used, the form, too). What is displayed in the browser’s address bar? “Your entry” means the main article, right?

Hey guys, I’m also using Aleksandr, and I have recently received the following error:
Tag error: <txp:article limit=“1” section=“archive” sortby=“Posted” sort=“posted desc” form=“article” /> -> Textpattern Notice: sortby attribute is deprecated on line 663
I’m a bit new to textpattern, and I’ve been able to resolve several other problems so far, but I’m pretty stumped on this one. Any clues as to what might be wrong?
The previous errors seemed to be based on the fact that I had the minim template installed, and had to switch a few options for my set up to be favorable towards Aleksandr. Is it possible that this problem is resurfacing?

@twoday – The only attribute you need to use is sort

Just remove sortby="Posted" from the article tag(s), that’s sufficient to remove the error.
You then should go to Admin > Preferences > Advanced Basic and switch “Production Status” to “live” to avoid the display of errors.

Thanks guys. That solved that, but since then half a dozen other problems have emerged. I’ve been able to fix most of them, but overall it seems to be quite buggy. I think I’ll try another template before I come back to this one.
