Is that a list of EVERY plugin?

As far as I can tell; it’s every plugin that is registered at textpattern.org/archives/?section=plugins

Out of which many are orphaned and up for adoption. I have marked 278 topics.

I’ll do more work tomorrow but I really think we need another subforum called “plugin archive” or “outdated plugins” as we have topics for plugins from 2004. My view is that those threads should not be buried in the generic Archive

I’d vote for closing the old zem_contact thread and providing the forwarding link as you have done.

Thanks :) I wish there was a way to search for plugins by author… But wait, maybe we can search on txp.org!

Edit: yeah, I think that could be useful: http://textpattern.org/?q=mdn_ and then search the forum for the plugin names.

There are some authors with a minimum of two three letter prefixes for their plugins. so a more fullproof way might be to search for Author name only in the Plugins Support forum. In any case – step two tomorrow:)

As long as we don’t have another subforum, could we flag them as [outdated] or [archived]? Is what I did here acceptable? (flag [archived], add a notice, and close the thread)
If we get the subforum, we can easily locate the threads to move them.

Re: orphan plugins

If no one minds, I removed the [orphan] flag from the MLP thread. Yesterday I already added a notice that the plugin is adopted… we don’t want to confuse people ;)

Re: orphan plugins

yep… Do you think that topic should close so as encorage users to use the new thread?

Re: orphan plugins

I am starting to redefine orphan plugins. I think that plugins which are

  • no longer available by their authors
  • Superseded by a native tag or another plugin

should be marked as [archived]. What does everyone think about it?

Re: orphan plugins

No, not yet. The new thread was only meant to announce the adoption, and to find more plugin authors who want to participate in MLP’s development. The intention is that txpforge.org will be used for bug reports and feature requests, and the forum thread will be for support questions. When Graeme is ready we’ll probably open an new thread and close the old one.

Yes, that seems right to me. I’ve been doing that already to a couple of old threads you hadn’t flagged yet.
Maybe when we’ve finished this we should add a sticky post to explain the flags?

yes… That would be good.

I am also closing the [archived] topics. If anything, it will also stop spammers posting in long forgotten outdated threads.

Re: orphan plugins

Hi

Why dzd_counter_view is mentionned as orphan plugin?

I modified the wiki and put Supproted on it.

It s a simple plugin that did a simple job, but is still working! or am i missing something?

Re: orphan plugins

I don’t see an [orphan] flag? Must have been a temporary slip of the keyboard ;)

Edit: ah, you meant in Textbook? It’s not marked as an orphan on the forum.
