WYSIWYG preview?
I was reading the weblog announcement for 4.0.7 and saw the new feature mentioned for a “wysiwyg preview for all articles”. I’m not sure what this is exactly, but when I have an article in the Write panel and click the “Preview” tab, I just have a blank area. Same if I click the HTML tab. The Text tab seems to be the only one that works (at least for me).
This could be a problem from my sketchy move back into subversion (thus the upgrade), but thought I would point it out in case not.

Re: WYSIWYG preview?
Destry, there is a ‘view’ link next to the Title input field, it appears as soon as you save a draft, hidden or pending article.

And, as I mentioned previously, a Thickboxish plugin as a “more decorated” preview window is easily imaginable.

Code for this has already been contributed by Patrick as a “hack”. I’m not aware of a plug-in though so if someone wanted to “step up to the plate”…

Re: WYSIWYG preview?
Thanks, Els. I guess it’s just for new articles after the upgrade. That’s why I didn’t see it.
So, what about the “HTML” and “Preview” tabs. These don’t seem to work anymore. (Though honestly I’ve never found these useful anyway). If they are deprecated, shouldn’t the tabs be removed?

Re: WYSIWYG preview?
No & no. WYSIWYG preview works for any article old or new, and the tabs are operational. You haven’t disabled JavaScript, by any chance?

Re: WYSIWYG preview?
No, JavaScript is enabled, but it has just started working all of a sudden, both the “View” link for old articles and both the tabs in question. It started working after I made my first article in 4.0.7, which was just a few minutes ago to test what Els was mentioning.
Odd, but it’s all there now.
Thanks.

Just like to confirm this too. Button doesn´t appear before a first article is written.
Kudos to Ruud and wet btw… great work!

Re: WYSIWYG preview?
I’m running into a related problem. The vertical preview buttons – preview/html/textile – work just fine. It’s the View link which displays the article preview for articles that are in draft/pending mode. Looks like the output is just a pure 404 page template. No tag trace available consequently. … I’m guessing I’m missing something obvious.

Any chance that you run zem_redirect or any similar plugin which mangles URLs?

Got it back working. Turning off upm_textile did the trick. But oddly enough, I turned upm_textile back on, and previews still worked. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
