Importing forms and pages from one TXP site to another. Possible?
Is it possible for me to import pages and forms from TXP site to another site without having to tediously copy and paste everything one at a time? I test the TXP site on my servers before I would want to transfer all the files (Page structure, form, styles, sections) to my client.

db export/import via phpmyadmin.

are there any decent tutorials on this as I’m not the most well versed with phpmyadmin. I’m sure I’ll probably get the hang of it if I mess around with it, but a tut might help. thanks again.

This will probably help: Moving Installation from one Host to Another :)

There’s a plugin too.

Im actually going to recommend yet another plugin, hcg_templates is a better version of mcw_templates, and it’s a breeze to use.

I wrote a short tutorial on moving a whole site to a new host using Rob’s rss_admin_db_manager plugin. Very easy.

for some reason, rss_admin_db_manager has NEVER worked on any of the live servers i’ve had to work with. I’ve always gotten one of those BACKUP ERROR: #(insert whatever random numbers here) no matter if i specify full mysql/dump paths or not. amazingly enough i can get it to work just fine on my local install (which seems like a more common issue) but of course this doesn’t help me.
sure I could do it manually, but yet of course a site i’m currently working on for some reason does not directly allow importing into their database. bah!!!
most of the time i go the hcg_templates route and just bare through the manual installation of plugins, settings and such.

Re: Importing forms and pages from one TXP site to another. Possible?
Some hosts disable the ability for PHP to run programs on the server, which would cause Rob’s plugin to fail.

I’ve never run into that problem. I work mostly on Dreamhost, which supports the plugin completely. I’ve moved five or six entire installations since then, with another one at the end of this week.
