Re: Where are posters' user names?
I would like to say that I feel dumb because I was totally confused about user names as well, calling people “lamda” and the like.
Even more confusing… because the spelling is “lambda” — the forum has it wrong!
I think it would be good if the name was the first thing in the panel and the greek letter state the last.

You mean in the sidebar, beside the user’s post?
Only problem is to fix the code, which does that kind of shitty thing. The user’s level (known as greek letter) is pretty understandable, so it’s good where it is. Well it could be writen with non-bold letters…
Cheers!

Re: Where are posters' user names?
over at the expressionengine boards i am almost consistently referred to as my forum user level name. i just think some ppl have an odd time discerning the two names for some reason. of course, this issue is a bit different when the username is completely missing for some people…

Yeah, exactly, but the position also makes it the most important thing. For you I see this:
êta
Real name: Jukka Svahn
From: Finland
Known languages: FI, EN, SE
For those who have no real name entered no indication of who they really are appears. This does seem like a problem to me.

Re: Where are posters' user names?
For me there is nothing in the tags. When I “reveal code” I see this:
<dt><strong></strong></dt>
Ah, here’s a clue… it works in IE6 but does not in my usual browser, Firefox 2. Safari 3 crashes completely. This is on Win XP.
I am guessing that this info is written by Javascript that is not using a cross-browser DOM correctly.

Or maybe it have something to do with cookies, that change how bar is output beside the user’s post. Because someones it work with every browser. And actually only new users experience this kind of a problem. For me it work with all browser I have: IE6, IE7, Safari 3, Firefox 2 and Opera 9.

For me, Camino is the only browser exhibiting the problem.

yep works fine in ie6, ie7, safari 3, ff 2, and opera 9 for me on Win XP as well. definitely has something to do with new user priviledges as i made a brand new test account and all of a sudden could not see any usernames in any browsers while logged in (but logged out i could see them fine).

Re: Where are posters' user names?
I can confirm this. When I log out, I can see all user names, even in Camino. When I log in, they disappear.
