Plugin name containing two underlines illegal or?

I got the weirdest problem right now. I’ve just started to take a look at my old plugin ob1_advanced_search and brush it up for a more formal release version that (you guessed it) works. But to my confusion I can’t, since TXP doesn’t seem to like the plugin name.

When I create the plugin with the name ob1_advanced_search and install it, it loads up good and all and I can activate it accordingly but I can’t call it through a template. If I rename the plugin to ob1_advancedsearch it does work. Have I been missing something when I did my reading up on changes lately or what? I see other plugins that have the same naming convention and no remarks that it doesn’t work. Illegal naming? Is _search forbidden? I’ve gone through the plugin code of TXP but still haven’t found any clues.

Got any ideas?

Plugins: ob1_advanced_search 1.032b, ob1_search_score 1.0, ob1_pagination 2.5, ob1_title 4.1, ob1_modified 2.1

Re: Plugin name containing two underlines illegal or?

Quadruple-doh!

Own fault, remove this thread or just read it and laugh at it. I had the plugin-cache active and there I had a plugin with the same name. No wonder it didn’t work. I think I need more sleep or more Toro Rosso, whatever works.

Does this error make me human? =)

Thanks for the plugin ied_plugin_composer that made me see the problem.

And for the rest of you know something I missed, that the plugin-cache plugins does not show up in the plugins list. I thought they would, but my mistake.

Re: Plugin name containing two underlines illegal or?

Ied_plugin_composer is really very usefull. I wonder, if we can get Yura, to update it at some point, so it conforms to v4.0.5 and the latest zem_template version (I think Sencer’s update). (Which I’d prefer)
I allways get confused, with the plugins, that are running from cache and skipped the proposed development version convention from Textpattern Solutions alltogether.

xxx_your_plugin.0.1.php

I keep only the plugin_name, and whenever I skip to the next version, shange only the version number in the template variable, compile and both source and txt encoded file go into a folder that has the version number in the folder name and moved aside.
That way, I can make sure, that I never accidentaly destroy some code, that was precious to me.

Just have to figure out the last steps, so it happens all automagically.

BTW.: Rob has an interesting article about these new template variables, that also allow you to compile in a compressed format.

regards, marios
