Re: [feedback] texpattern gets questionable review
As far as creating subsections go, I have used rss_unlimited_categories for two sites now with great success. It is very hacky, and definitely requires some smart architectural planning, but it works beautifully.

Are we going to take someone named Gez Lemon seriously?
Obviously from the blog post you get the feeling this guy didn’t spend too much time in either system.
Gez is an extremely competent guy who spends the majority of his time in CMS systems and doing test and consultancy on accessibility. Please spent more than 3 minutes on his site before talking b*shit.
(and he’s not the author of the study, btw)
@Mary – the tests were performed using a stock TXP 4.0.4.

Subsections are in crockery.
Ok, I’ll bite… where? I’m staring straight at ‘sections’ on a crockery install and I don’t see anything that would suggest sub-sections.

Re: [feedback] texpattern gets questionable review
What I would have liked to be seen in the article, would be a comparison chart with all the aspects looked into, and some kind of evaluation point system for each on each CMS tested.
May be that wasn’t in the budget.
These kind of accessiblility research cost time and money.

Dale: there’s no interface for it yet, it is what’s under the hood (partly done).

Textpattern is primarily a blogging tool rather than a CMS…
They said the same thing about ExpressionEngine, which makes me think they didn’t look very closely at the power and flexibility of either system. The study was user-focused, however, not developer-focused. That makes it an understandable mistake, but it’s still frustrating to see this myth perpetuated about both products.
