There’s “plugin development”, “plugin requests”… wouldn’t it be clearer to name this new forum “plugin support”?
What is the purpose of the main plugins forum? That seems to be covered by all the plugin sub-forums now… or is this just a temporary state and will the main plugins forum be what ‘author support’ is now (‘support’ it’s probably the most active of the plugin forums, so it might make sense to have that as the main plugins forum)?

Once a article is first published live (in the right section) in the txp.org’s TXP, it ping txp.com’s PunBB with some data : name of the author (or username if that’s saved in a TXP custom field), name of the plugin, etc. And PunBB creates it. It doesn’t even need to be on the same server.
Even if someone makes a false txp.org article or something like that, that’s what moderators are for.
The only trouble is to find someone with some PHP skills to devote an hour or so to it.

You’re making a naive assumption: that no one else would easily find out what the ping url is. There is zero chance of me implementing here any script that trusting when it has the power to do mass naughtiness. I repeat: it “require[s] tight security”. I can tell you that it most certainly is not going to happen in an hour, because it requires two different plugins (one for Txp and one for PunBB) and requires testing before actually being used in a live situation.
What is the purpose of the main plugins forum?
This will allow for the main plugin forum to catch anything else that might fall through the cracks, and allow new plugin authors to create their thread and be added to the group.
