Hmm, looking at it further, it appears that (at least for me), if you let the browser open the file (in my case, I tried with Opera 9), the file’s incomplete. If you download it, it will work. For the record, the last character should be =

If you’re really having difficulties, let me know and I’ll put a zipped version up there. And at some point, I’ll figure out why the browsers aren’t opening the complete file…

The last character is a =. There seems to be a weird double-spacing issue going on, download or no. If you could try a zipped version for those of us who can’t quite figure this one out, that’d be most excellent of you ; )

thanks for the zip file, although that does not work for me either. Doing a file comparison, for me the zip file contains the very same file, which I previously download directly from your site. (I am using Opera 9.12/build 8701, so I think it’s not an Opera-related issue.)

Some while ago, I encountered the same weird plugin-upload misbehaviour with a pre-release of benbruce’s postmaster plugin. Strangely, the upload problem disappeared somewhen with a new release.

So I guess I will have to be patient and simply wait, till another beta for final version (miraculously) works again. In the mean time, 0.4.2d is also fine with me.

Does plugin allow users to reset their password to whatever they want it to be, or does it auto generate a new one?

Currently it’s auto-generate only. It’s on the list of features to add, though.

You can put the self-edit tags on a page to allow the end-user to change their own password, if you’re so inclined.

That brings up an interesting situation for me! Would it be possible to somehow combine either your plugin or the mem_self_register plugin to allow users to change their password to whatever they want?

I currently have both plugins installed on a site that I am working and I want to be able to give the users the ability to change their password to whatever they want it to be, if that is possible.

I ask this because I see two situations where this would be great to have….

1. If they forget their password and cannot login to the site. They would need to reset their password and it would be great if they could reset it to anything they like.

2. If they are currently logged in, but their password is hard to remember or whatever and they want to change it for future use.

What are my options?
