Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
hi yura,
is it possible that in IE5 (macOS 9) the plugin page empties irreversibly if i install hide_in_admin? (and: yes, i’m logged in as an editor;) i put back all the checkmarks where they were initially in case there might be some to influence the plugins panel. but it even stayed hidden after deleting hide_in_admin. this is why i began doubting my suspicion.
but i’m lucky enough to have several browsers for testing and mozilla is’nt that critical at that point, so i can plug in and out there.
but from my side (and speaking for my clients) another big thank you for this plugin!

irreversibly? even if you delete hide_in_admin? not possible, since it’s the plugin that contains javascript snippets that then come up on the pages it affects, those javascript snippets make the fields invisible (sic!) – that is nothing is really deleted. Then if you uninstall the plugin, there’s no way for the javascript snippets to appear on the pages.
One thought – can it be cache?
In any case, let me know.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
yura, you’re right, i should remeber to keep the cache in mind! but for other reasons ;)
no, it’s not the cache. the tab’s content isn’t gone, it has just vanished one screen height deeper, i simply overlooked the scrollbars (fool i! i tested for over half an hour with several browsers, de-installed and re-installed and all).
as i understand you, there’s nothing hide_in_admin could have done to cause the scroll problem, right?
do you think it can be the effect of another plugin-installation at all?

Wow, this is great.
Nice to see the way its been logically built, and even if you’re not a txp pro (I’m not), this is a handy plug in for tidying up the interface, making unwanted fields invisible.

uli, an uninstalled hide_in_admin definitely cannot cause any problems, including scroll ones.
James, you are welcome. I was glad to hide some fields myself :)

Hide_in_admin (v0.1.6) is now 4.0.4 ready! Feel free to use it on your latest svn nightbuilds.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
Hi Yura,
it seems the write tab has been changed since you updated you plugin, it now has a more label and a create new label, would you consider adding these to the plugin so they can be hidden?
Many thanks, Lee.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
I’ve ran into a weird issue with 4.0.4
I installed this plugin and had it working and then added a custom field… now the plugin has ceased working. I uninstalled it, emptied my cash, restarted – nothing will work. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin the settings I had for the plugin were saved.
I really want to get this working it will help greatly for clients!
Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
Hi Yura,
Not sure if this has been requested already (don’t have the time to dig through the whole thread this morning), but if not, would it be possible to add a multiple <select> list under Write: section? One that lists all the current sections, and lets the Administrator choose which of them are accessible for each user level?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
FYI:
I was having problems getting ied_hide_admin to work
and Yura kindly explained to me that the dom requires
atleast one article category to be defined for the js to work.

Thanks for the tip. I was having a problem on one of the sites I run as there were no categories defined. I didn’t know what the problem was.
Thanks again.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ied_hide_in_admin version 0.1.: Hide Fields in Admin
Using latest version of txp and this plugin, I have some issues.
I can’t seem to hide the advance options in the write tab. I’ve tried hiding the whole thing or just certain elements and nothing seems to work. I also can’t hide the recent article list as well. The options are all unticked for the user group I’m dealing with.
I’m using hak_tinymce plugin if that might have something to do with it.
