Oh… I’m sorry… I was looking at my svn updated site… well yes, the current 4.0 HEAD has a nice searchbox in the files tab, but I understood you wanted something like that available as a < txp:searchfiles > tag or something like that, that you can put in a page for the site visitor

Is it so?

I can understand the confusion now!

Yes, all I want to be able to do is have a search box that allows the users to search file descriptions for keywords and listing the results.

For example, say I’ve got an information guides as PDF files for a bunch of products, and I want to let the user enter a keyword and have all guides that have descriptions that contain that keyword listed.

It would be nice if the search tag had an attribute ‘type’ where you could specify: article, file, image, link

Well, it means modifying other tags as well, since search is presently powered by the article tag, and it doesn’t make sense to use that for the other content types.
