Missing Lang Strings: what's left?

Added a whole bunch.

Ones that I haven’t added because I’m not sure how to phrase them (succinctly):

(all are in tagbuilders)

  • escape (I believe the idea is that there will one day be more than one possible option for this attribute)
  • format (only a couple times this is used)
  • pageby
  • pgonly
  • showalways

Input appreciated.

As I mentioned to Nils earlier, one that can’t be added right now for technical reasons is a proper “days ago” string. I will change it over as soon as it is possible to do so, but it won’t be for 4.0.4.

Now, are there any others still remaining?

Hi Mary,

In the Admin/Diagnostics tab are still remaining:

$path_to_site
upload_tmp_dir
rfc2616_headers
active_plugins

Charset (default/config)
character_set_client
character_set_connection
character_set_database
character_set_filesystem
character_set_results
character_set_server
character_set_system
character_sets_dir

“n” Tables

And (finally!), please take a look at this post I made a long ago…

All the Best,
rui

Re: Missing Lang Strings: what's left?

Fixed:

  • rfc2616_headers
  • active_plugins

I’m pretty sure the following all need to stay as they are, that they’re actually untranslated on purpose (they are actual variable names, need to remain in English for the developers’ sake, etc):

  • $path_to_site
  • upload_tmp_dir
  • Charset (default/config)
  • character_set_client
  • character_set_connection
  • character_set_database
  • character_set_filesystem
  • character_set_results
  • character_set_server
  • character_set_system
  • character_sets_dir

But, I’ll run them by Alex (when I see him later today), to make sure.

“n” Tables

?

I’m afraid I’m not quite sure what you mean there either.

Re: Missing Lang Strings: what's left?

I’ve got a question concerning the default website on a clean install. What were the reasons not to translate the following things:

  • First Post
  • I enjoy your site very much.
  • Donald Swain
  • Hope for the Future
  • Meaningful Labor
  • Reciprocal Affection

I know we once talked about it, but I can’t remember the reasons. If those strings could be translated, the standard install would be completly internationalised.

In my case it’s: 21 Tables. It’s located after “character_sets_dir” and before “PHP Extensions”.

My English isn’t first grade, so something was lost in translation :-)
Basically, what I was suggesting is: Replace the string “Go…” with the existing but not yet used “Go to…” in the navigation popup.
Why? Because in Portuguese (and in other latin languages) we need both strings for different meanings.

Line: 304
Function: navPop
File: txplib_head.php

Thanks in Advance,
rui
