Creating author : no mail sent
Hi, I’m trying to create new authors and no way : they never get the confirmation mail they need to connect.
I think it’s not a server problem : when somebody post a comment I got it by mail as admin without any problem.
I cannot change the pwd by the databse : it’s crypted and when I put a non-crypted one it do not serve :(
Any idea ????? Thanks for help by advance !

Does your server support PHP’s mail() function properly? (it might not have sendmail enabled, for instance)

p.s. Run Diagnostic. I think that checks that kind of thing, but I could be wrong. I’ve never actually tried it under these circumstances.

Walk I did and everything is ok
Zem : I don’t understand, in my case comments emails ARE received, pbm is only with authors creation.
Update : strangely, new authors got information mail … 12 hours after I created them. On the same time, I got comment mail advice without any delay on comment posted so I think it’s not related to any server problem … I don’t understand very well where can be the problem.

The delay is caused by mail server(s), not Textpattern. Check the ‘Received:’ lines in the message headers to see the times it arrived at each server along the way. You’ll be able to tell from that which server caused the delay.

Thanks Zem, right. It seems I have some problem with server time (one hour more or less), I’ll see with server admin. What I don’t understand is why I have this problem only when creating authors and not when sending comments … but it’s not a main problem anyway. I’ll let you informed if I have more information about that.
