mysql error?

i’ve just installed the latest release of textpattern and each time i do anything, i receive the following error:

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /users/home/onegear/web/public/weblog/textpattern/lib/txplib_db.php on line 56

i’ve done some research on this issue but have not been able to find a resolution.

thanks for any help you can give.

Re: mysql error?

just thought of something…..

i just switched hosts about a day ago. could this possibly be a temporary error while DNS is propagating?

Re: mysql error?

I experienced an identical error on a site I recently installed TXP in. I installed 4.0.3 from the download page and everything seemed to run fine. I started to copy in templates and forms for the site when this error message started to show for no specific reason I could find. I have since taken a different approach to the site without TXP. I haven’t had the problem elsewhere.
The conditions for the install where:

Hosted by Textdrive.
Ver 4.0.3 from the download page.

The only difference with this install was a little bit of Javascript in the templates.
This one doesn’t make any sense to me, and it won’t go away once it starts.

I don’t have much to offer for help here because I removed the files, but I would be interested in the solution here?

Re: mysql error?

exactly! as soon as i started doing something to the site, this error popped up. i’m running 4.03 hosted by Textdrive.

i really like textpattern so i would rather not switch to something else. i’ve run serendipity and wordpress in the past. if i have to switch, i’ll probably swith back to serendipity. i would rather resolve this issue, however, and stick with TXP.

thanks for the info.

Re: mysql error?

I’m running 4 different sites on Textdrive with TXP, the most recent is the only one I have seen this with. My best guess would be the MySql setup. Consider submitting a support ticket.

This is mentioned in the FAQ:

thanks for the link! i’m going to attempt to rebuild the database or just do a complete reinstall. since i’ve just installed the software, it won’t be a problem doing a reinstall.

Re: mysql error?

Time for me to review th FAQ, I missed that one.
I wonder if its just coincidence with the recent DNS change though?

Re: mysql error?

same here. i missed that FAQ completely.

i was wondering the same thing about the DNS change.

i’m going to attempt to rebuild the database or recreate the database. i’ll let you know how it goes in about 10 or 15 minutes.

Re: mysql error?

no luck. i deleted and recreated the database and this time i’m not even able to complete the install. it has to have something to do with the DNS propagation. maybe i should just wait until tomorrow morning…….
