It’s criticized a bit in the fediverse. Something about being supported by a ‘publishing house’, having a ‘proprietary layer’, and essentially amounting to being a ‘German version of Chrome’.
I don’t know what all that means, exactly, but they are working on supporting support Tor’s Onion services.

So, from a quick look it appears a rebranded version of Firefox with Ghostery build in. The company “Cliqz” owns “Ghostery” it appears. If they integrate support for Onion services, that will make it hmm a bit suspicious.

Standard Firefox plus ghacks-user give more freedom to configure and control.
