[mention] TextDrive R.I.P.

TextDrive was started in 2004 by Dean Allen, the creator of Textile (a “humane web text generator” similar in style to Markdown) and, later, Textpattern, the closest thing to a beautiful CMS that I’ve ever seen.

Interactions with staff nearly always had a faint whiff of BOFH about them
ROFL, totally know that feeling. I don’t think I would tolerate it from a shared hosting support tech, though. :-) Sad about the service but there are a lot of great web hosts out there these days.

Aren’t this and related domains hosted on TextDrive? I wonder how this development will affect that.
EDIT: I had not read this before I posed that question

Re: [mention] TextDrive R.I.P.
Crap. I didn’t get an email. Last email received was 6 days ago, notifying me about Emergency Maintenance. Just checked to see if a spam filter caught it… and nope.
Ray provided me with a VC3, which I “Golden Ticket”-ed to a free spot on a Shared SmartMachine.
Now really confused, trying to read through pages and pages to find out if they are booting me or expecting me to pay now, or what.

Thanks.
(I’m rather miffed that if I hadn’t happened to see this thread I wouldn’t have known. :/)

As I said, I received an “Emergency Maintenance” email from them 6 days ago, so it is weird I would receive that but not these latest important messages. Check spam folder… nope, not there either.

I found the form here, so I decided I’d try it and see if that works.
