what is 'lofi'?
Sorry, this sounds very stupid question.
I see that there is a form ‘lofi’ in the txp default install, and a template I was playing with also have this form. I wonder if it’s just a name or something unique for textpatter such as default, archive.

“lofi” normally means Last Out First In. Exactly why that was used in textpattern probably has to do with context and intended usage. I haven’t used it much myself, but judging from the form layout its used for tight format repeating lists such as search results.

I’ve heard of LIFO, but not LOFI. But that’s assuming it is an acronymn, rather than a term more people are familiar with: “lo-fi” (versus “hi-fi”). Here it means a “lighter” or simpler version.
It isn’t arequired form in any case. Neither is the “archive” page, by the way.
