Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

A little personal site, named Rahinaa.biz containing blog, webdesing-portfolio and little webguides for webdevelopingfreaks. The name, Rahinaa, mean in English two seperate words: rattle and uproar – words that somehow or someway describe my personality. Er – maybe you don’t understand the language of site, Finnish, but it’s a website running on Textpattern

Site uses quite a lot of plugins, and lot of raw php, because I like to make & try everything that I can. Example plugins that I use are (important ones): ajw_clean_feed, ajw_comments_feed, bit_rss, gaw_if_comment_preview, glx_if, hak_textile_tags, mrw_spamkeywords_urlcount, ob1_title, and tru_tags.

Textpattern is just simple and good base for sites – it can do almost everything in my opinion. I have used Textpattern about 1.5 years and I just love it. Now days I use it in all of my webprojects and at least always recommend it to my customers/employers. Playing whit Textpattern is good way to spend time

Nice clean site with nice touches. It doesn’t look like rattle and uproar, more like peace and quiet to me!

Re: Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

Yes Jukka, I like it too!

And if you sign off with What? I’m a little confused… again :-) I can understand why: that Finnish is really unreadable!!! And if the Fins speak as fast as they drive, it will be super-cunfusing!

I like the water-mirrored titles, very web2. Are you going to make more plugins from that Raw-PHP?

Cheers

Re: Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

Nice you liked the design. Now it’s time to come and the design is updated & completely changed, with some more reconstructions too, ofcourse address is the same http://www.rahinaa.biz/

Now, used plugins:

  1. hak_textile_tags
  2. mrw_spamkeywords_urlcount
  3. pap_contact_cleaner
  4. rss_thumbpop
  5. ajw_clean_feed
  6. zem_contact_reborn
  7. tru_tags
  8. rah_metas
  9. stm_javascript
  10. rss_auto_excerpt
  11. htn_comment_count
  12. zem_prblock
  13. zem_ir
  14. wet_commentmagic

Youtube videos are outputted with this little code if someone is interested – the article is Finnish, but code is PHP-so that part ain’t so confusing ;) The new site is still little unfinished, like IE-bug-fixing, basically png-alpha-chanels at frontpage.

Enjoy :)

Cheers!

Re: Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

Nice. I really like that “thing” behind the logo with the piratesign in it. Nice touch ;).

One objection though (ofcourse ;)

  1. Dark brown/grey links in the left navigation against the background color. The colours bleed alot on my “normal Joe” LCD monitor (where as on the other one that’s a “bit” better it works).

Plugins: ob1_advanced_search 1.032b, ob1_search_score 1.0, ob1_pagination 2.5, ob1_title 4.1, ob1_modified 2.1

Thanks :) I have noticed that thing too, while testing with older monitors (with brightness adjusted to 100% these monitors worked :D) I thought of changing the links colour, but because it shows good in most fairly good monitors, I thought not, because links match to the palette fairly good. But Laptops still cause little difficulties…

Re: Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

Maybe change the link color to a light blue version, that would still keep it in the palette. Like a bit lighter then the blue link color you use on the right column against the white background?

Re: Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

hi gocom-really nice work.
one small issue i noticed in the wee top left box with the date in it. the text breaks out of that after one font size increase. no big deal maybe.
very nice colour scheme.

Re: Rahinaa.biz // Updated design

Thank you kvnmcwebn :)

Yep, I know. That is the only place where the space for text is limited, so it will or can break if you increase font size via your browser. But therefor it’s also only place where I have used static (px) font sice, instead of em/%.

The design is also little changed since last week. Added little Ajax menu to the top. Althought is was part of the original design, but I put it in use just now.

Cheers!
