File list using multiple file categories

I’d like to create a single list of files from multiple (but not all) file categories sorted by id desc (the closest thing to reverse chronological order).

However, <txp:file_download_list /> seems only to allow a single category to be specified and of course the parent category feature isn’t implemented so I can’t use that either.

Anyone got any ideas? Would it be possible to use a <txp:if_category> in the form displaying the file instances or is <txp:if_category> limited to articles?

Help!

Re: File list using multiple file categories

mem_glinklist plug-in can be used to display the different type of categories (link, files, etc)
In fact, mem_glinklist is a bunch of plug-ins packed together (mem_glinklist, mem_categories and mem_if_category_empty).

But I dont believe that it’s possible to achieve what douglgm and boomer want.

I would say that it’ easier to achieve this by doing a bit of “hand-coding” (btw, is it hand or hard coding?) than trying to create a tag/form that do it all automagically for you.

In other words, repeating <txp:file_download_list category="categoryname" /> for each category is, for me, one easy way to do the task.
